Overview
Two very different halves of the same country. Four days of wildlife and wide country in Tarangire, the Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater, then a flight east to Zanzibar for warm water, white sand and the carved doors of Stone Town.
It is the pairing most travellers ask about, and it works: the safari half asks something of you, early starts and long drives, and the island half asks nothing at all.

You meet your guide in Arusha after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park — enormous baobabs, open savannah and the elephant herds the park is known for. Lunch on safari, then more game driving through the afternoon.

After breakfast you travel on to the Serengeti, the plains opening up around you as you approach. Your first game drive in the park runs into the afternoon on the way to camp.

Wake early for a sunrise drive if you would like one, then a full day exploring. Your guide picks the area from the day’s wildlife movements, the season and the state of the tracks. Picnic lunch out in the park.

A last morning drive in the Serengeti, then east into the Ngorongoro highlands through some of the best scenery on the route. Depending on the schedule there may be time for a cultural or archaeological stop along the way.

An early breakfast and a morning game drive on the crater floor, with a picnic lunch before you climb back out. From there you transfer to the airport for your flight to Zanzibar, where our representative meets you and takes you to your beach hotel.

A day on the island at your own pace. Stay on the beach, snorkel over the reef, sail on a dhow at sunset, walk a spice farm or spend the afternoon in Stone Town among its carved doors, markets and seafront.

Breakfast by the ocean and, depending on your flight, time to swim, shop for souvenirs or take a last look at Stone Town. We transfer you to Zanzibar Airport when the time comes.
